April Fools Day 2017 In A Nutshell...

(The above pic is a reference to this.)

And so, April Fools Day 2017 comes to an end, and I think with the warm reception, it's been a smashing success.

So, where did this idea come from?

As you can probably tell from my haitus on all my projects, I've kinda been under a lot of pressure these last couple of years, and all the accusations I get just pile onto that pressure.

"Spaztique is a narcissist."
"Spaztique is secretly the head mod of the WSW."
"Spaztique pushes his opinions on others."
"Spaztique sends his personal army against people he doesn't like."
"All the WSW really is is a cult to push Spaz's opinions on everyone else. Walfasing is just a front for Spaztique's activities."

It's always "Spaztique this" and "Spaztique that" whenever they complain. They never account for how the mods are an equal team or how the members vote on community rules and guidelines. They never even consider my peaceful stance on folks and maybe, just maybe, everyone's anger at the people who dislike me is less about me "controlling them" and more about them defending one of their friends (believe me, if I could control people, I'd make them stop). They keep thinking, "Let's troll Spaz and watch him send his army after us!," but it doesn't annoy me: it annoys everyone else. And yet, I keep getting the blame for everything in the WSW, and even stuff outside of the WSW. My essays on Undertale? That's somehow considered a "WSW project." My psychology research program? Also a "WSW secret army." It's as if they cannot seperate me, my projects, and what goes on in the WSW.

Well, this April Fools gag asked, "What if that was all true?"

Needless to say, the results would be catastrophic: constant in-fighting over the pettiest of things like condiments, constant rule changes, me being above all of the rules and admins, starting fights and ending friendships over not being able to handle disagreement. I played the strawman they painted me as to full hilt, and the general reaction was pure laughter from the vast majority of the Walfas community: it was the more ridiculous twirly-mustached villain they had ever seen, and no sane person could ever act the way I did.

To be honest, it actually warmed my heart to know that there are a lot more people out there who understand who I really am than those who think they know some sort of "secret hidden truth" about me. They know I could never be like the caricature I played on April Fools Day, and many talked about "tyrant Spaz" as if they'd never even considered the idea before. So many people played along, starting their own fights for ketchup, soy sauce, fighting against me with mayo, and so on, not batting an eyelash, not fearing the normal consequences the opposition saw. We all had fun, we all had a chance to laugh at ourselves, and those of us who've been dealing with the "Spaz this, Spaz that" crowd were able to let out a sigh of relief; especially me, knowing how many people supported me in the end.

The "Fake Tyrant Spaz" everyone witnessed was a great contrast to the normal Spaz everyone knew:

Fake Spaz was the sole ruler and dictator of the WSW.
Real Spaz is just one of the mods of the WSW. He tries to pull his weight the best he can, but he's not the "head mod."

Fake Spaz uses force, coercion, and outright threats to "rule the group."
Real Spaz just helps people out in any way he can.

Fake Spaz pushes his "infallible opinion" on others, and simply cannot handle disagreement.
Real Spaz may disagree at times, but can also agree to disagree.

Fake Spaz will lie and downright manipulate information.
Real Spaz tries to remain radically honest. (Though, he's not above the occasional mistake.)

Fake Spaz is a narcissist: entitled to being unique and different, thinking they're above the rules and better than everyone else.
Real Spaz is just a normal guy who wants to be like everyone else: he's not entitled to anything other than the pursuit of equality and happiness everyone else has.

Fake Spaz sends his "personal army of WSW members" after anyone he dislikes.
Real Spaz doesn't condone shunning anyone. He might notify people there's a feud going on (which will obviously be misinterpreted by the other party as, "SPAZ IS TELLING PEOPLE TO GO AFTER ME!"), but his general policy is, "Stay out of it, remain neutral or a peacekeeper."

Fake Spaz uses strawmen in his satires to show how he's always right.
Real Spaz uses real behavior and real examples in his satires because it's FUNNY.

Fake Spaz is an asshole.
Real Spaz tries not to be one.

For all the anti-Spaz crowd's accusations of "this is how the WSW REALLY works!," now that we've all seen it over the course of a single day, it's impractical and unrealistic. Nobody would stand for me being a sole dictator of the group, and especially doing the things I did, saying the things I said. And yet, they think this happens on a daily basis, which makes it all the more laughable. The real WSW and the real Spaztique do not work the way they appeared to in the WSW Condiment Holy War.

So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you everyone for making this a memorable April Fools Day. It's been a great boost to my not-as-good-as-it-used-to-be self-esteem, which should hopefully speed up my recovery so I can finally get around to making more stuff and hanging out with you folks more often. I've been trying to stand up to myself more, but after years and years of being told to always be ultra-mega-nice to people who dislike you, as well as always earn the approval of your enemies, it's hard. Luckily, this April Fools Day will be a major step to finally standing up for myself and to stop caring about what people who will never understand me think. For that, you all have my eternal thanks.

One last thing: I actually do dislike mayo, but I won't start a war with you if you like it, contrary to what the anti-Spaz crowd actually believes. (And yes, we do have a chatlog of somebody claiming I was trying to turn the WSW against mayo. That's partly what inspired the condiment war to begin with.)

It's funny because the only condiment on this list I disliked is mustard, and I used to actually hate mayonnaise, too, but that's only because I had the mayo types I actually didn't like, so for the most part, we are on agreeable terms aside from mustard, and even then, I don't get sick or anything if it's accidentally on my food, I am more or less indifferent to it.

It was hilarious overall because we could blow this otherwise small factor out of proportion and treat it very black and white, that level of binary attitude was a joke, and it was an effective one at making things fun, so I freaking had a blast with this one, and definitely was happy to see this kick off as much as it did, we lost all control in the WSW, but it was the kind where everyone was going crazy and having fun in a rule friendly manor.

Because I was there to hear you present this idea, I know for a fact that you indeed had a point to prove in all this, and I've always not been able to see eye-to-eye with the crowd you're talking about, and the thing is, if you were what they called you, I wouldn't be able to stand for it and actually would oppose it. This kind of April Fools thinf really just extenuates the fact that you can call those accusations and hit pieces against you mean spirited and attempts to get under your skin. In this regard, I am sorry to heard you've been affected so deeply by this, but like this April Fools joke has shown, you still have people that support you, and unless you give us a big reason not to, I know for a fact it's going to stay this way for a lot of people as this is the case with me myself.

You're very welcome in this regard not only for the April Fools Day fun, but the fact that you feel able to stand up for yourself, it's very encouraging to hear, especially given how you say it was affecting you before. ^^
